Some Days this Blog Just Writes Itself

The Post-Dispatch has picked up on story of the excommunicated priest of the former St. Stanislaus parish, Marek Bozek. The full story is here.

What I think is hilarious (and sad) is how Bozek's own words betray the error of his own position, and give testimony to the truth of the Catholic faith. In explaining to the Post's reporter how willing he is to have "conversation and dialogue" with Archbishop Burke, and how graciously willing he is to compromise, he had this to say:

"My definition of compromise is that I move two steps and he move two steps and we meet in the middle," Bozek said. "But his definition is that I move four steps and he stands immovable like a rock."

Yes, Fr. Bozek-- like a Rock. Like Peter. Like the house built on a rock, that the storms do not destroy. But hey, enjoy that nifty house you have on sand, OK?

One final note. The Archbishop and his canon lawyers must be busy these days. Let's keep them all in our prayers.
