That ain't a rolling rock.

Looks more like something from Schlafly's.

Timman, was it your night to pick up, I mean, make dinner?

What I want to know is why you are calling your "French Fries" by the Swedish name? ? ?

Rolling Rock? What are you thinking?! That should be a Guinness!

Dierberg's has grilled burgers? Who knew.

You had me until Rolling Rock...you can do better than that! Beauty and excellence in the liturgy should expand into beauty and excellence in all things. Rolling Rock just doesn't make the cut.

OK, people, one at a time:

1. wholly roamin: You are right, of course. It isn't rolling rock. This post was a take off of Fr. Z blogging his dinner menu all the time, complete with pictures--e.g., veal piccata with spanish judias verdes and a lovely bottle of veuve". Because I am incapable of taking a photo and then posting it, you get stock photo art. Mea culpa! :-)

2. CP, touche, but I did not have to pick up, or pick up, this dinner.

3. cmziall: Because pommes frites sounds more pretentious.

4. guinness connoisseur: you are right. Rolling Rock was more of the low-brow complement to pommes frites that I was looking for. In reality, I had a Red Stripe.

5. Dulac: No, Dierberg's has fried chicken. But since I didn't pick up, or pick up, dinner, no chicken required. Thanks for playing.

6. Fr. Bozek: thanks for commenting. Beauty in the liturgy, indeed, is not the only issue. But you have a point-- Rolling Rock is the N.O. of beers. Bud Light is a guitar Mass. Milwaukee's Best is women-led liturgy.

Ahhhh, yes, I forgot. . .you are one of my PRETENTIOUS friends :)
You are like my dear husband, using "big" words just because you can! :0p

Oh, please, Red Stripe is hardly better!

Timman,

Who'd ever thought that you would get all of those comments from a picture of a burger and fries! Sorry, it just makes me think of a bottle of Tums.
