McCain Names Palin as Running Mate

Yeah! She is a great choice, a pro-lifer mom of five, who lives her beliefs by giving birth to a child that she knew was disabled.

She is a conservatve who is against government waste, such as the time she told the Federal Government that she didn't want to waste tax payer's money on the bridge to nowhere in Alaska.

And her being so pretty doesn't hurt either!

She has a Down syndrome baby at 44 and returns to work three days later. The child is now an entire five months old and she's running for VP. With "champions" like this we don't need enemies. Remind me please, exactly which "values" is it that everyone hates us for?

Wooo Hooo! This is excellent news!

I do have to say, though, she has some interesting names for her children. . .most of which I've never heard of.

To the 1st anonymous,

She didn't abort the baby as she was encouraged to do, and 80% of women who find out their babies have down syndrome do! And she wasn't practicing birth control or getting sterilized as many women today do.

I heard that her baby was one year old now. And did you hear her say that she went to the office when her baby was three days old, or did the lovely media spout that gossip?

I imagine the Obama camp will try to do everything they can to make her less appealing, but she is a good, solid choice!

Who will care for her child, when she's campaigning all over the country and then if they're elected??? I can't imagine taking on that type of role if I had a 5 month old special needs child...my family would come first.

And isn't it great that her husband isn't some wussy man? He knows it's a woman's job to care for and hold the baby... so all through his wife's press conference his daughters care for the kid! You'd never see Barack 'whupped' Obama doing that. Go John and Sarah!

To the critics who have posted so far,

I think it is a little ironic to be giving the same criticism as the liberals-- insinuating that the baby would be better off aborted, instead of "suffering" a mom who will "neglect" him. Is there really any proof of that?

Choice is great unless life is the choice?

And how do you know what the child's care is like?

I'm just saying, maybe 48 hours might be given before that specific criticism-- 6 hours seems a little soon...

To Palinfan: it's wussy for a dad to hold his baby?

when the red phone rings at 3 am and sarah palin answers, basd on her vast experience as mayor of a major american city, she'll know exactly what to do...call barney and gomer.

Last Anonymous,

It will be John McCain answering the phone, thank you, and his experience is unarguable!

Also, let's think about this:
If the red phone rings and Obama, former "community organizer" and friend of William Ares, founder of "The Weather Underground" which conducted terrorist activities in the 1960's, including bombing of the U.S. Capitol and the Pentagon answers. Obama just tells them, "I guess big, bad America deserved it, at least my former pastor thinks so!"

Here is a commercial about the above his terrorist friends that Obama is trying to get suppressed.

This is why I loathe "Republican Catholicism." It gets you to incrementally lower your standards until you find yourself championing people who act in ways you would never condone in yourself or those around you, e.g. Limbaugh or Palin. So she didnt murder her child, BFD. Does this make her a paragon of feminine virtue? Have we sunk this low? This kind of self delusion has a tendency to infect the entire thought process. It should be fairly obvious to any moderately objective mind that this choice smacks of desperation bordering on the cusp of madness. While the general polls have shown a close race the state by state electoral polls have always shown McCain trailing badly. This is a political Hail Mary pass. Please do not respond by telling me how much worse Obama is, I do not support him. But anyone who knows McCain knows he has lived a despicable life, his grotesque treatment of his first wife, the Keating Five and his consistent self serving betrayal of his fellow Republicans at almost every oppurtunity are all well documented.
Also, Palins own website states that the child was born in April of 2008.

Is it to late to get Admiral Stockdale?

To the Anonymous that states he loathes "Republican Catholicism":

Just why do you think Sarah Palin is a bad choice for us? Why isn't she virtuous, because she isn't a stay at home mom? Then over 75% of the woman in America who work are without virtue!

The people who you might think are virtuous would most likely not be running for office, because when you are a politician you must put a lot of time into it, and yes, the family may be put second.

While McCain is really too liberal for me in some issues, Palin is a strong Conservative, so it does help his ticket. McCain has several children, one of whom was adopted by Sister Teresa's suggestion.

As far as him divorcing his first wife, it was almost 30 years ago, and he has shown remorse. He isn't a Catholic sticking up his finger at the church like the Democrat's VP Biden as he goes to communion!

I loathe the, "liberal Democrat Catholicism" as it simply has NO standards!

I'd rather have Palin answering the red phone at zero-dark-thirty than Obama. Barney and Gomer are infinitely more appealing to me than Rezko and Ayers.

Frankly, I can't wait until Catholics in the battleground states of Ohio and Pennsylvania have the opporturtunity to ask both Mr. McCain and Ms. Palin precisly why they felt the need to leave the Church to become born-again Christians.

Perhaps I'm old-fashioned, but as a Roman Catholic, I don't feel all that comfortable with the James Dobson/John Hagee crowd...

I think those who warn against identifying too much with any political party have an excellent point. I agree. I understand that the Republicans have been short on delivering the pro-life agenda. I get it.

It is just that the only thing the Dems have going for them is the fact that they make no apology for an agenda that kills as many babies as possible.

Again, this is not a political blog, nor do I want it to be one. I posted this story because the selection of a pro-life VP candidate is newsworthy, as the selection of a pro-death VP was last week.

May God have mercy on our country, that is the place of so many abortions.

The McCain's daughter was adopted from a Mother Theresa orphanage, but NOT at Mother Theresa's request. That's a story the McCain's told originally but has now been deleted from all their official stances. Both are beautiful stories, why lie?

"Thou Shalt Not Bear False Witness"?

Just saying...

Republican Catholics and Democratic Catholics exist only in the minds of men. There is no such thing. We are all made in the image of God, in the midst of conversion, struggling toward perfection. Some have given away their souls to molech, they are not the enemy, the evil one is. Let's bring them back through prayer & sacrifice.
