The Portiuncula Indulgence

A plenary indulgence may be gained by the faithful under the usual conditions (Communion, confession, and prayers for the Holy Father's intentions) on August 2 by devoutly visiting the Portiuncula, the Cathedral of the Diocese, or one's parish church and there reciting an Our Father and the Creed.

As one of the easiest plenary indulgences to obtain, it bears mentioning.

Wow, what a deal for a plenary indulgence--and the same weekend as Missouri's tax free holiday! Schweet.

If only I had read this before mass this morning. . .We didn't recite the Creed, and were planning on confession tomorrow to count for First Saturday. The priest at N.O. didn't mention this, sadly.
