In Case You See the Queen of England in Line at the Wal-Mart Service Desk

For Her Majesty's sake, I should say, "on line" or "in queue".  However you express it, though, she is probably trying to return that i-pod Obama gave her that is loaded with his speeches.

Bleh.

Last night Michael Savage referred to the Obamas as the low-rent presidency and the Wal Mart presidency.

After giving Gordon Brown DVDs (which were coded for the US market!) and the Queen an iPod, I have to agree.

Let's face it, the Obama's just don't have the gift for gifting.

How crass and embarrassing. Has he no advisors who understand dignitary protocol at the world-leader level? Well, on the flip side ... at least he didn't give her a tacky sleeveless dress and it might make a good SNL skit.

I agree with the absurdity of this gift, especially the list of songs he downloaded onto it! BUT, what DO you buy the Queen of England?

A spiritual bouquet.

You guys are hilarious. Barack Obama and his country are getting rave reviews on the world stage, and all you can do is yuck it up about his gift to the queen. Maybe you better go back to promoting the return of the Church to the dark ages.

I have to say, TGL, that you can be counted on to take the secular line on most things. If you understood anything about what the "dark" ages were all about, you might post differently.

Oh I do know what the Dark Ages were about, believe me.

TGL,
Rave reviews? Maybe from CNN and MSNBC, but I haven't the leaders of other countries fawning over his his ideas and policies, have you? Leading up to this summit he's been rejected by the Germans, laughed at and insulted by Chavez and yesterday the First Lady of France wouldn't even give him a hug. And how do you explain his gross failure in protocol by bowing to and kissing the Saudi King's hand?

This trip is not a return to Camelot by any means.

Okay. Somebody asked the question, what WOULD you get the Queen? Since your minds are all so more impressive than the President's (supposedly). You think maybe he gave her the iPod because it's so much a part of the 21st century and he figured she might be intrigued by the world her grandchildren live in? Perhaps he's assuming she's not a fuddy-duddy? (Perhaps you ARE assuming that?)

Obama is downright disrespectful. No question about it. He dislikes England and mockes it. What an embaressmant to be called an American.
