This year is a Holy Year in Santiago de Compostela (the traditional Spanish title for St. James the Greater-- literally, St. James of the Field of Stars, though the origin of this name would require a separate post), because the feast day, July 25, falls on a Sunday. Gregor Kollmorgen at New Liturgical Movement has a nice post with great photos here.If you have not made the ancient pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela, in Northwest Spain, perhaps this is the year. Like, maybe, if you have done Chartres already?
This pilgrimage has been known to convert souls.

Msgr. Kevin Codd, the former rector of the American College(Seminary) in Louvain Belgium and Spokane Diocese Priest came to Gonzaga and talked about this book, and his journeys to Compostela and how the restoration of that medieval culture of dynamic Catholicism inspired by epic pilgrimages and glorious feasts will serve well in the new evangelization. And gave that cultural expression of Catholicism as a reason for the success of evangelization in Latin America in comparison to North America.

I'm feeling there's a not-so-subtle hint near the end there...
