Yet Another Isolated Incident That Says Nothing at All About the High Quality Education Provided by Our Public Schools

With minimal emphasis and commentary of my own, from KOMO-News, Seattle:

Mother furious after in-school clinic sets up teen's abortion

By KOMO Staff

SEATTLE -- The mother of a Ballard High School student is fuming after the health center on campus helped facilitate her daughter's abortion during school hours.

The mother, whom KOMO News has chosen to identify only as "Jill," says the clinic kept the information "confidential."

When she signed a consent form, Jill figured it meant her 15 year old could go to the Ballard Teen Health Center located inside the high school for an earache, a sports physical, even birth control (hello, Mom!), but not for help terminating a pregnancy.

"She took a pregnancy test at school at the teen health center," she said. "Nowhere in this paperwork does it mention abortion or facilitating abortion."

Jill says her daughter, a pro-life advocate, was given a pass, put in a taxi and sent off to have an abortion during school hours all without her family knowing.

"We had no idea this was being facilitated on campus," said Jill. "They just told her that if she concealed it from her family, that it would be free of charge and no financial responsibility."

The Seattle School District says it doesn't run the health clinics at high schools. Swedish Medical Center runs the clinic at Ballard High and protects the students' privacy.

T.J. Cosgrove of the King County Health Department, which administers the school-based programs for the health department, says it's always best if parents are involved in their children's health care, but don't always have a say.

"At any age in the state of Washington, an individual can consent to a termination of pregnancy (euphemism for murdering a baby, let us always recall)," he said.

But Jill says she not only didn't have a say in her daughter's abortion, but also didn't know about it.

"Makes me feel like my rights were completely stripped away." Mom, you might rethink that free pass you gave to contraception... May God have mercy on mom, daughter, and the wardens of the school.

The writing of that article isn't clear. I read it also. Is the mother a pro-life activist or is the daughter? If the daughter is a pro-lifer why would she pursue an abortion? If the mom is pro-life, are we to presume the daughter fully intended to defy her mother? How did mom finally learn of the abortion?

Before we started homeschooling (15 yrs ago), we found that on all of the city school boards in STL there is a paid RN on each board. (This info -not commonly known-was given by one of the elected board members.)
One of my favorite policies is to
"follow the money trail".Guess who pays the salaries?

Planned Parenthood.

School based clinics funnel all contraceptive needs to planned parenthood.

It is very dangerous for Catholic schools to accept free government computers and shared health care services.

This is another reason we have home schooled for years.

May God help us!

I generally like to assume the best of people, but your comment makes literally no sense. Are you speaking of the City of St. Louis School Board? All public school boards in the greater St. Louis area? All of those boards are elected (save for the board governing public schools in the City of St. Louis for the past 2 or 3 years), so for Planned Parenthood to have some sort of sleeper cell member of each board would be quite the electoral coup.

I love a good conspiracy theory as much as the next tin-foil hat wearing blogger, and I share your concern about the evil intentions and acts of Planned Parenthood. . .

but what you are intimating is demonstrably false.

ANON 16:18,
Fifteen years ago this was regarding a member of the Ladue School Board specifically.

My friend and I researched the public schools sex education program which was inserted into the science program. (In the Catholic schools it was part of the religion classes-and taught every year---these books were not to be taken home.)

Parents were allowed to go into the public school (Ladue Junior High)look at the manual but not take it home to read. It was also a separate manual from the other texts and was not to be taken home by students. One year it was health another year it was science curricula. In the midst of all this research, while talking to a Ladue school board member, one of us was told that each school board had an unelected member (a nurse) who was paid by Planned Parenthood.

Maybe things have changed and of course everyone may believe what they wish, but, this research is the first reason I began to home school.

Anyone who "generally would like to assume the best of people" may not want to believe what I have detailed here briefly. Please keep your children in the public schools
if you are so inclined. It is much easier for parents to send their kids off every day to school than it is to homeschool.

Heck, check for yourself---let us all know what YOU find out.
Do you believe things are better than they were 15 yrs ago?

I think that the young 15 year old girl is an abuse victim. She is abused by the Planned Parenthood devils and her high school. They told her it was FREE if she didn't tell her parents?!!! That parent should sue the school and Planned Parenthood for everything that she could.

Someone who hasn't been a victim of abortion has no idea how a pro-life person could have an abortion. Let's just say they have very deep claws and coercive speech that is led by Satan himself.
