"Your problem is you're handicapped by being a lawyer."Good one, Syrod!
I disagree. I think your problem is that you lack the simple, beautiful virtue of charity.
Were you being paid by the word in your response to the veil issue? Were these billable hours? ;)You took such great pains to be as diplomatic as possible here in suggesting Archbishop Burke wasn't far enough to the right in his response to the woman's question.Just thought I'd point out that you usually offer no nuances whatsoever when treating people who might be a little more liberal than Archbishop Burke.Congratulations too - didn't think there was room for anyone to the right of Archbishop Burke. The surprises keep coming!nammiT
"I disagree. I think your problem is that you lack the simple, beautiful virtue of charity."So charitably stated. Thanks.
Tim - Just read your post re: veiling, but comments seemingly not permitted there. Agreed that this is not a definitive answer and has no legal weight. Agreed also that his reply is rightly conclusory and without extensive analysis. However, if veiling were still obligatory (in either form) it seems highly contradictory for the Prefect to advise privately a faithful layman otherwise. In sum, the Prefect has said it's not an obligation, and at most an expectation in the Extraordinary Form. Why won't you take him at his word? Unless and until we hear otherwise, this seems like good counsel.
