Yeah, that's right, X: America is all about fighting for the continuation of slavery. That must have been what my father fought for in World War II. Nothing at all about freedom, liberty, anything like that. Just a defense of slavery (masquerading as states' rights, of course...the right of Southern states to keep human beings enslaved based on their race). THAT was the highest value in the Constitution, as you point out, and it died at Appomattox. Thanks for the history lesson, friend. So nice to see you embracing both slavery and Catholicism. What a fine witness you are for faith and freedom both.
