Corpus Christi Meditations

This Thursday is the great Feast of Corpus Christi.  I am on the road today but in addition to normal blogging I will post over the next few days some reflections about this feast from Blessed Columba Marmion, taken from his book Christ in His Mysteries.

All the mysteries of Jesus are essentially mysteries of faith; without faith we can neither accept nor contemplate any of them.

However, the degree of light that illuminates our faith in each of them is different. [...]  But there is one mystery where both the divinity and the humanity, far from revealing themselves, disappear to our senses.  It is the mystery of the Eucharist.

That Picture of the Good Abbot is some OSB goodness. Love it.

I love his use of Mystery ..it isnt the chump post consilliar "Mystery" of "You are too dumb to understand so I wont explain it" approach, but rather..God is so magnificent in his greatness, THAT Is the mystery.
