02 September 2011

This Sunday, following 10 am Solemn High Mass and Benediction at St. Francis de Sales Oratory, there will be a farewell celebration in honor of Canon Aaron Huberfeld, who will be leaving to become Rector of St. Mary's Oratory in Wausau, WI.

Many of you have expressed appreciation for his sermons, several of which he was kind enough to allow me to publish here.  We will miss this excellent and holy young priest, but why shouldn't Wisconsin catch a break every now and then?

The annual Chapter of the ICRSP is also winding down; safe journeys to all traveling this weekend.

Does that mean that Herr Huberfeld will get to ride a horse and give royal waves instead of sit in a dunking booth next summer?

I have heard a number of his sermons. He is always historically as well as theologically right on target. He is able to "cut through the smoke" that is engulfing society. Well done good and faithful servant.

We were fortunate enough to have Canon Huberfeld offer Holy Mass for us at St. Titus Church in Aliquippa, PA, on three occasions over the past year. We wish him all the best at his new assignment at St. Mary's in WI, and we congratulate him on his new post.
