Unabashedly Catholic News and Views
Ummm, to look at the fellow's photo is to wonder if anyone ever thought he was straight. Maybe his mom was oblivious... A kind but cynical professor I once had (who was also gay) insisted that ultimately all moral and political philosophies are personal. That is, a person's worldview falls out of his desires, opportunity set, etc. And so the beast of self-interest is always lurking beneath the arguments of academics, policy makers and Joe Citizen. Only Christ can break this spell.Scott
Are you desensitized? I was shocked and sad.
In other news...The Catholic Encyclopedia has this to say regarding the LCWR:"It is distinguished...for crafty proceedings, chicane and lack of frankness on the part of its adherents, especially their pretence of remaining Catholics without renouncing their errors, of staying in the Church despite the Church itself, by skilfully eluding or braving with impunity the decisions of the supreme authority. Such conduct is beyond doubt without a parallel in the annals of Christianity..."Oh sorry! That Isn't the LCWR they were referring to, that is Jansenism!
Majority Leader Tim Jones' comment sums up the situation perfectly: "I find it interesting that some of the critics of this bill who constantly rail about keeping government out of our bedroom now want to put the bedroom into public schools."
Yep. It's his "lived experience" that guides him.
Amen, Amen, I say to you, the day will come that to announce that one is or the normative, properly ordered, orientation will be news.WT
I always find it fascinating how all of you heterosexual commenters know so much about the intricacies / inadequacies of the personalities of people who identify as "gay. Why do you spend so much time pondering this? In fact,Timman, why did you even post this? If it ceases to shock you, then did you just post it to get people riled?
