CBS Takes Shot at the Pope in Continued Effort to Front for War

Not unusual that the media would exhibit anti-Catholicism, but truly bizarre that liberal press would finally turn on the humble Pope they couldn't get enough of all year--over his appeal for prayer and fasting for peace.

And for whom? The Nobel Peace Prize winner who wants to start World War 3!

What a country!

"Why, of course, the people don't want war. Why would some poor slob on a farm want to risk his life in a war when the best that he can get out of it is to come back to his farm in one piece? Naturally, the common people don't want war; neither in Russia nor in England nor in America, nor for that matter in Germany. That is understood. But, after all, it is the leaders of the country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy or a fascist dictatorship or a Parliament or a Communist dictatorship."

Gilbert: "There is one difference. In a democracy, the people have some say in the matter through their elected representatives, and in the United States only Congress can declare wars."

Göring: "Oh, that is all well and good, but, voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same way in any country."

Aside from Dear Leader his lapdogs at C(&)BS News, it's dubious that some would have you believe we've a right to be the enforcer of justice and a moral compass to the world while in the same breath give a pass to the daily legal slaughter of thousands of innocent children through abortion.

Our Pastor preached an excellent sermon this morning on war as filtered through the lens of The Summa Theologica, Question 40. No doubt this was one foundation upon which the Holy Father placed his request for fast and prayer yesterday. We would all be wise to familiarize ourselves with St. Thomas Aquinas.

I knew the whole thing would become US vs. Putin/Russia. And now we see the real subtext: homosexuality. Russia is the last bastion of reason in the world on gay rights. Gay rights used to be an issue for local communities like Stonewall and San Francisco. Then it was nationalized. Now it's in world politics, and about to cause world war three. Homosexuality and Israel ... That's an unbeatable hand.
