Who is Phil to Judge?

Story here, such as it is.

Oh, and a completely unrelated story from Alabama here

Weird to be me: a barefoot hillbilly from Alabama feels more like my Pope than the real Pope.

Traddad, I certainly wouldn't go that far!

I don't have the guts to post the other link on Facebook.

What was the first Pope but a barefoot hillbilly?

This is not a freedom of speech case, as much as everyone wants to make it about that. We cannot forget that A&E (employer) suspended the duck guy (employee) because he said things that were considered unacceptable by his bosses. Do we want employers to be forced to keep people on their payroll no matter what they say?

I expect that if an employee of Hobby Lobby drew lots of attention to himself for spouting pro-choice or pro-gay nonsense and was then fired, the same people defending the duck guy would be singin' a different tune.

I'm not saying it's wrong to side with duck-man, but if we're gonna use the freedom-of-speech argument, we have to accept the fact that it is open to all speakers.

Should I go to confession for laughing at the title of this post?

Louisiana swamp rat instead of Alabama hillbilly but you get the point. And Phil did go barefoot for a few years.

"trad dad of 4", your comment is hilarious. I go to Mass at St. Francis about once a month. I note that the family numbers in order to be allowed to enter is at least 7 children. I guess that you borrow a few from the neighborhood in order to slip in the door.
