V. Oremus pro Pontifice nostro.

R. Dominus conservet eum, et vivificet eum, et beatum faciat
eum in terra, et non tradat eum in animam inimicorum eius.
[Ps 40:3]

Pater Noster…, Ave Maria….

credito, perveniat sempiternam. Per Christum, Dominum
nostrum. Amen.

V. Let us pray for our Pope.

R. May the Lord preserve him, and give him life, and make
him blessed upon the earth, and deliver him not up to the
will of his enemies. [Ps 40:3]

Our Father, Hail Mary.

O God, Shepherd and Ruler of all Thy faithful people, look
mercifully upon Thy servant, whom Thou hast chosen
as shepherd to preside over Thy Church. Grant him, we
beseech Thee, that by his word and example, he may edify
those over whom he hath charge, so that together with the
flock committed to him, may he attain everlasting life.
Through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Wow - Pope in Rolling Stone; and they bring Bob into it too...

J, that is a good thought. We should always pray for our Holy Father Francis. And let's keep Benedict also in our prayers.

V. Let us pray for our Pope Emeritus.

R. May the Lord preserve him, and give him life, and make
him blessed upon the earth, and deliver him not up to the
will of his enemies. [Ps 40:3]

Our Father, Hail Mary.

O God, Shepherd and Ruler of all Thy faithful people, look
mercifully upon Thy servant Emeritus, whom Thou hast [had] chosen
as shepherd to preside over Thy Church. Grant him, we
beseech Thee, that by his word and example, he may edify
those over whom he hath [had]charge, so that together with the
flock [that had been] committed to him, may he attain everlasting life.
Through Christ our Lord. Amen.

**I post this only half tongue in cheek (and definitely not to disrespect our current Holy Father Francis, Pope Emeritus Benedict, or this beautiful prayer). The other half is just that this whole set of circumstances is quite heart wrenching and I can identify with your brother's "lucky charms" observation.

Timman, I am at a loss as to what you are getting at by posting "Enjoy Your Lucky Charms, Bro" above a picture of Benedict XVI, and would really appreciate an explanation. I guess there are some readers who "got it" immediately, but all that I'm getting -- in my ignorance -- is an impression of unkindness and disrespect toward the Pope Emeritus, which I'm sure wasn't your intent.

Dear Jane, thanks. No, no disrespect to our Beloved Benedict. I was addressing my brother, who once said (and which statement I blogged) that his Lucky Charms just tasted better when Benedict was Pope.

Oh -- ok, I get it now :-) Thanks, Timman!

Totally got it and boy oh boy do I miss our beloved Benedict, but the modernists got what they wanted and well you know what we have now.

I hope all got to see Bishop Slattery of Tulsa at The shrine of the Infant of Prauge this morning on EWTN, to celebrate a Pontifical Mass in the Extraordary Rite. He is a great friend of Tradition and celebrates Holy Mass in his cathredral ad-orientem only!!!
