A Lovely Sermon on the Espousal of Our Lady and St. Joseph, by Cardinal Burke

New Liturgical Movement has it here.  Really, it is so refreshing to hear Catholic content in a Catholic sermon by a Catholic prelate these days.  Yes?

That was a beautiful article. It truly is wonderful to read such Catholic teaching. It did bring a question to my mind though that I have not heard addressed: why did Mary marry at all since she had consecrated her virginity to God forever? Was it mandatory for all women to marry and why would St. Joseph agree to such a marriage? Did Mary agree to marry because of her parents' wishes? And St. Joseph was acting upon inspiration by God? Does anyone know?
