Why Saint Louis Catholic Will Celebrate September 1
Because September 1 is the. feast of St. Giles the Abbot.
That's what Catholics do, they celebrate the feast days of saints.
You can read the Wikipedia entry for this extraordinary saint here.
St. Giles is responsible for many miracles, and also relevant for Catholics holding fast to the Faith these days, he is a Patron Saint against depression.
He gets bonus veneration from me from the fact that the church holding his remains is a pilgrimage stop on the Arles route of the Camino de Santiago de Compostela, and also that he is the name patron of the founder of the Institute, Monsignor Gilles Wach.
St. Giles, pray for us!
