Congratulations, Lester Holt!

Robot Grandma Killary must be happy enough-- three days later, he's still alive!

You trumpsters really are desperate to put a shine on that egotistical, narcissistic, uninformed, unwilling to become informed, rude, loudmouth that thinks he could possibly be competent enough to be the president of the greatest country on earth. He couldn't even be bothered to prepare for a debate in which he HAD to know what would come his way. Clinton is flawed, but she's not incompetent. Trump would run our country into the ground. His debate debacle is all on him. Don't bother trying to shift the blame to Holt.

I thought Trump was running for president of the United States. Huh.

And I don't blame Holt. Like the post says, congrats to him on his well-formed sense of self-preservation!

What is the greatest country on earth in your opinion?

That would be the one that most closely models the Social Kingship of Christ on earth; which one that would be could be debated if I had the time to investigate at leisure. However, as a starting point I would note that the U.S. enshrines into law abortion, pornography, sins against nature, the debasement of the state of matrimony, equal rights of false religion with the true religion under the misleading mantra of "religious liberty", and unjust taking of property/illegal taxation under several Supreme Court precedents. Also, the country has violated just war doctrine with the immoral invasion of several countries, and has banished any serious public espousal of revealed truth from polite society.

Thus, the effort to anoint the U.S. as the greatest country on earth has some serious hurdles to overcome, unless the effort is confined to some presumed opinion that every other country is even worse. If mankind is in that state, I can't get too excited about the title at all.

I imagine your ancestors left some other country to come to America, because they felt it was a better place. Since it doesn't meet your needs anymore, I don't understand why you don't do the necessary research in order to find that better place for you and your family?

You're right, Mary: Hillary isn't incompetent. Rather, she is highly-skilled at using every means available to enrich herself, her sexual predator husband, and her cronies through leveraging her undeserved political clout.

Besides that, I don't imagine you could name three things of worth that she has done to avert running our country in the ground. You need to wake up before impact.

Mary, you've earned your cash and cigs from acorn, but if you want to continue a debate here please avoid ad hominem.

mary said...

Since you get to decide what is ad hominem and your decisions are bogus, I'll leave you and your pals to your and their delusions. The world is one big conspiracy theory to you.

"Mary, Mary quite contrary..." indeed.

Hillary had been looking really awful physically for several weeks now. They really did a good job embalming (my mom's word) her for the debate. Holt knows where his paycheck is coming from.

Thetimman:Thank you for answer to the question "What is the greatest country on earth?" It is a reminder to me to see all things the way Jesus sees them. We must put on the Mind of Christ.

Leaving without naming those three things? Shame.

Tinman,

"You've earned your cash and cigs from ACORN" but please avoid ad hominem attacks? Seriously? Mary is absolutely right. This blog has devolved into a cabal living in an alternate universe in which no serious discussion is tolerated. What you have here is a blog in which like-minded people (including some clergy, unfortunately) congratulate each other on the anti-pope, anti-Catholic posts that proliferate here. Go ahead and have your fun, but don't pretend for a moment that you welcome the free exchange of ideas.

Thanks, Sam, for the free exchange of ideas.

Hilde dear, I didn't leave. I was dumped. Rated ad hominem by the close-minded.

Imo, Mr. Trump made a mistake in not insisting -- in spite of the opposition's (and that does include Lester Holt) desire to keep the focus elsewhere -- on sticking to the major issues that have created this contest: immigration, jobs, national debt, national security. And there should be zero tolerance of Clinton's trotting out the bogus "racism" card, which Trump could quickly and easily take down.

As for potshots of a personal nature, whether concerning tax returns, beauty contests, health, or marital history (on either side) -- Trump does not need to get into the gutter with Hillary if he will just insist that there WILL BE discussion of the issues that bear on the survival and flourishing of this nation. If Hillary or the moderator/s don't like that, Trump should just talk directly to viewers about the issues, ignoring whatever diversionary noise the moderator/s or Hillary try to inject into the proceedings. Those watching will take note.
