Mental Note

I'm starting a new policy at work. Whenever I have a physician client I'm making him wait in the waiting room for a half-hour, and then bringing him into the conference room, where he'll wait another fifteen minutes. Then I'll see him.

...and when you're in a surgery with an unexpected complication, you'll be OK if your physician leaves because he has an office appointment scheduled. ;-)

The doctor's spouse weighs in! Yes, office punctuality is that important to me.

Doctors are great clients because they have more money than most criminals. Other than that they drive you nuts micromanaging their cases.

Then it sounds like you should switch physician. I know one that's very punctual, but you might not like your exam.

Might be a horror show for both, then...

Do you think they enjoy being behind schedule? Administrators enforce quotas that physicians must maintain. Not uncommon for them to have 1-2 patients scheduled every 15 minutes and to additionally keep up on patient's labs/imaging/other testing, return phone calls, not to mention chart every minute detail on each patient visit.

It's ok, I'm only joking. What puzzles me is that if the doctor is not ready to see me yet, why the tease of being put in the secondary holding tank?
