"The Princess Bride" is 30 Years Old? Inconceivable!

Grandson: Does it got any sports in it?
Grandpa: Are you kidding? Fencing, fighting, torture, revenge, giants, monsters, chases, escapes, true love, miracles!

Grandson: Doesn’t sound too bad. I’ll try to stay awake.

One of the most satisfying movies for a family to watch. You must have seen it, of course, but if you haven't, please do so without further delay.

CWR has a nice little summary and review here.

Hold on. This isn't a kissing book, is it?

Rare that a move is truly sui generis. The Princess Bride was original and never to be copied.

Was my reference to the Princess Bride in my homily in Sunday Mass either:

A) A sign of the decay inherent in the Ordinary Form

or

B) A sign of hope for renewal

or

C) Just a crackpot priest

Don't tempt me, Fr. Andrew! I'll say B.

OK, it's A. 😜

Great film. I love Inigo Montoya. Mandy Patinkin was fabulous.

And the KMOX sports open line guys were gushing this week that Mighty Ducks movie was 25 years old...umkay....
