Bishop O'Donnell Dies

Bishop Edward O'Donnell, former Archdiocesan Administrator of the Archdiocese of Saint Louis, passed away yesterday, February 1, 2009. Read more at the Archdiocesan website.

Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord.
And let perpetual light shine upon him.

May his soul, and the souls of all the faithful departed, rest in peace.

I remember when Bishop O'Donnell was pastor of Notre Dame. I was in high school and several of us would go to that decrepit old gym in Wellston to play floor hockey with Fr. O'Donnell. He actually speared me once! Great memories. I'm saddened by his passing. Since I'm no longer in St. Louis, I might have missed this, so thank you for posting this.
