Laurie Jackson, Requiescat in Pace

Terribly sad and stunning news to report. Laurie Jackson, young wife and homeschooling mother of four, died suddenly this morning at her home in the St. Louis area. The Jackson family attends the Oratory of St. Gregory and St. Augustine, as well as St. Francis de Sales Oratory. She is our dear friend and will be missed.

She was in her early thirties; she is survived by her husband and four children. Her youngest daughter is not yet one year old. Her son, Joshua, the eldest child at age 6, was with his mom when she stopped breathing.

This is an unbelievable shock to everyone.

Please pray for Laurie, Brian, Joshua and their family.

I will post funeral arrangements as I get them.

Requiem aeternam dona ei, Domine, et lux perpetua luceat ei. Requiescat in pace. Amen.

I am very sorry to hear about this. I'm from the Institute's base out in California, but you can be assured of my prayers for the family.

Words can not express my sadness at this terrible loss. Laurie was a great friend, devoted wife and mother, and, truly, a holy woman. She will be missed...

Laurie is, I believe, a saint. She was always kind and loving and holy. She lived her vocation of wife and motherhood in a way that would make Blessed Mother proud. We will miss seeing Laurie, and sharing in her laughter and love of life.

I first thought your post would be about the woman, last name Jackson, who with her son and friend were killed by a drunk driver. I just saw the horrible thing at the STL Post.

This is also terribly tragic news for this family you cite here. So strange on the heels of Amy Welborn's husband collapsing and dying earlier this week.

May all the faithful departed rest in peace and may perpetual light shine upon them. May God grant their families peace and consolation and healing.

My Wife and I attend the oratory. My sincerest condolences to the family. I am sure we met once or twice, but we are still fairly new to the community. We are praying for you guys!
